Ishmael Valadez
Ishmael grew up in Mexico, where the colorful art of folk dancing is always present. While living there, he also explored other art forms such as poetry and painting. He came to the United States in the early 90‘s and studied dance and theatre at the College of the Desert and at Golden West College. During this time he began touring along with many Latin celebrities, as well dancing and choreographing for different venues in Los Angeles. After mastering many Latin and commercial dance styles, Ishmael began to pursue modern, ballet, african, ballet folklorico, and ballroom dance by studying with professional artists in California and Utah. He has been member of Grandeza Mexicana Folk Ballet since 2007. He joined NBDT in 2006 and has participated in tours in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and Europe. Ishmael holds an AA degree in dance, music and theater arts.
