ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
ISMAEL MURILLO
Ismael grew up in Mexico learning traditional folk dances, while exploring other art forms such as poetry and painting. He came to the United States in the early 1990’s, and started his dancing and theater training at College of the Desert. During this time he began touring with many Latin celebrities, as well as dancing and choreographing for different venues and night clubs in Los Angeles.
After mastering many Latin and commercial dance styles, Ismael began to pursue his dance fundamentals in Modern, Ballet, Jazz, African and Ballroom, by studying with professional artists in California, Utah and Nevada. He earned his A.A.Fine Arts Dance degree in 2010 at Golden West College.
Ismael has performed with a hybrid of dance professional companies such as: Grandeza Mexicana Folk Ballet, Pacífico Dance Company, Club Guadalajara Folk Ballet, Caron Eule Dance, and Nannette Brodie Dance Theatre, and most recently Jazz Spectrum Dance Company. He has participated in tours in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and Europe.
Ismael works as a dance instructor with many different state and private schools, teaching master classes and choreography. He recently trained with the Santa Monica College Dance Academy, teaching Ballroom dance to children.
Ismael has earned his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology/Dance in 2020 and will be finishing his Master's program in Spanish at California State University, Northridge in 2022.
